Box 'Emperor's Roll'
by Augarten Wien
The particularly real-looking Viennese "Kaisersemmel" is a fun table decoration, but can also be used as a butter- or jam dish.
Emperor Franz Joseph I also had to eat breakfast to get his day off to a good start. The emperor had a special fondness for resche Handsemmeln. This fine Viennese white pastry was distributed in all cities on the occasion of his birthday on 18 August. As a whimsical decoration, rolls and other pastries were made of porcelain for the imperial table. Augarten has revived this tradition and added the deceptively genuine KAISERSEMMEL to its range as a tin.
