Wall Plate 'Tema e Variazione' nr. 1

by Fornasetti

Hand-decorated black and white porcelain wall plate, 26 cm.

Original image of the Tema e Variazioni series, conceived by Piero Fornasetti in 1952 from the face of Lina Cavalieri.

Reproduced in over 400 variations over time, the portrait of the opera singer runs throughout the collection through games of irony, illusion and graphic experimentation.

Designed to be displayed on a wall, the plate comes complete with a hanging support and can be used individually or combined with other variations from the series. It can also be used as an ornamental piece for the table.

Each plate is a collectible piece hand-decorated in the Fornasetti Atelier in Milan.
