Mocca Cup and Saucer "Jean Cocteau"

by Raynaud

Limoges porcelain

Jean Cocteau ( 1889 - 1963 ) was a French poet, illustrator, playwright and film-maker and was one of the most important artists of the 20th century. During the fifties he became interested in ceramics and he created more than 300 pieces of earhenware with clean and graphic lines, true to the style of his drawings. He used his favourite motifs; tragic mythological heroes, fantastic plants, angels and fairy-tale characters. Now, almost 70 years later, still fascinated by this faboulous artist, Raynaud presents a gift collection, directly inspired by the works created by Jean Cocteau in the 1950s

This is not a "high-fired" decoration, washing up by hand is recommended.
